J. S. Bach: Prelude No. 22 from "The Well-Tempered Clavier"

The Well-Tempered Clavier is a collection of solo keyboard music composed by J. S. Bach in 1722. The work contains twenty-four preludes and twenty-four fugues, one in each of the major and minor keys. Bach offered WTC "for the profit and use of musical youth desirous of learning, and especially for the pastime of those already skilled in this study." Bach later compiled a similar second book dated 1742, with the title "Twenty-four Preludes and Fugues." The current transcription of Prelude No. 22 was premiered by the University of Georgia Wind Ensemble at the 2013 American Bandmasters Association convention in Tampa, Florida.
